Hello all,

A little over a month ago Claudine Sierra (UNA, Costa Rica), Mariana
Altrichter (IUCN) with help from the Organization for Tropical Studies
taught a course on Biodiversity Conservation through the Lens of Indigenous
Peoples. The professors and students used Las Cruces Biological Station
(http://bit.ly/13FnA6e) and the territory of Coto Brus (Ngäbe-Buglé) as
headquarters for the course.

This course was directed towards graduate students interested in Biological
Conservation Projects that overlap with Indigenous Territories. The course
focused on the governmental and non-governmental conservation paradigms and
the issues faced by conservation leaders developing projects within
indigenous lands. With this in mind the course concentrated on theoretical
and practical approaches that integrate social and natural sciences.

The coordinators and students created a Course book that we at OTS would
like at share with you. You can find the course book at
http://bit.ly/1dMtgAf .

Cheers,
