Open Position: Lecturer with Potential for Security of Employment at University 
of California, Irvine 

The University of California, Irvine Department of Ecology and Evolutionary 
Biology invites 
applications for a tenure-track faculty position as a Lecturer with Potential 
for Security of 
Employment. 

This individual will be responsible for developing and teaching courses in 
ecology and 
sustainability studies, including those in the Interdisciplinary Minor in 
Global Sustainability, and for 
helping to create a new Professional Master’s Program in Conservation and 
Restoration Science. We 
seek outstanding candidates with a Ph.D. in biology or a related scientific 
discipline and 
demonstrated excellence in teaching, course development, and scientific 
writing. The successful 
applicant will preferably have training or experience in an ecology- related 
field, such as ecological 
restoration, conservation biology, sustainability science, or global change 
biology.
