We are drafting an undergraduate certificate program in sustainability,
and would welcome any advice or information about existing programs at
other institutions. In particular, we are interested in the following
aspects:
1. How does your certificate program/curriculum define sustainability?
2. How many and what types of courses are required? Do they address all
aspects of sustainability (environmental, economic, and social) or may
students focus on only one or two aspects?
3. How are the learning outcomes defined and assessed? I.e. how does
the program assess student success in the program before granting the
certificate, both within each course or component as well as in the
program as a whole?
