Need to craft a buzz-worthy social media campaign? Check out our course
designed especially for science and environmental professionals. Join the Duke
Environmental Leadership (DEL) Program for "Social Media for Environmental
Communications<http://nicholas.duke.edu/del/social-media-environmental-communications>",
offered April 7 - May 16, 2014. This immersive course, taught online, will
help you explore both popular and underutilized social media platforms and to
choose the correct social media tools to interact in a meaningful way for your
organization or campaign.

Our instructors are Drs. Andrew Thaler and Amy Freitag, founders of the
Southern Fried Science blog<http://www.southernfriedscience.com/>. They lead
a global cohort of environmental professionals in weekly discussions. Assigned
readings, social media projects, and discussion boards allow for customized
instructor feedback and peer review between meetings.

The DEL Program also offers skills-based, distance learning courses in Behavior
Change/Social Marketing (currently underway), writing (June 2 - July 11, 2014),
and a project-oriented communications planning course (Sept 22 - Oct 31, 2014).
Students who successfully complete all four courses can earn a Certificate in
Environmental Communications.

This course can be taken for graduate credit; register before Next Tuesday,
March 18, 2014 for the reduced tuition rate. Registration is extremely
limited! More information including CATES scholarship opportunities for
educators can be found on the DEL website, and, of course, at our social media
sites.
