Property and Acquisition Specialist 3-Rights-of-Way Specialist

SALARY RANGE: $21.41 - $28.09 per hour plus a comprehensive benefit package 
including retirement.


TYPE OF POSITION: This is a permanent, part-time, works approximately 32 hours 
per week with a great group of people.

LOCATION: Beautiful, family friendly Olympia, Washington

This position works in the Rights-of-way Program providing guidance and support 
to DNR's six regions on the acquiring, granting, exchanging and management of 
access rights.  This position is an agency cost share specialist and will 
primarily be working on access related issues with the USDA-Forest Service.  
DNR has complicated cost share agreements with the Forest Service dating back 
to the 1960's that address the sharing of costs associated with over 300 miles 
of road.  This position works closely with DNR's regions to gather and analyze 
completed road maintenance and improvement work, project future work and 
identify needed easements.

Duties include but are not limited to:
*Drafts and review contracts related to the agreements including fact sheets 
and supplements.
*Coordinates, schedules and facilitates cooperative meetings with the Forest 
Service.
*Assists in negotiations and the development of rights-of-way policy.
*Works on Forest Service cost share agreements
*Works on utility easement granting and general rights-of-way work.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
*Two years of professional experience in rights-of-way, land transactions, 
forestry, engineering or surveying.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
Any of the following:
*Two years' experience working with Forest Service cost share agreements.
*Two years' experience in the utilities industry related to easement 
acquisition or management.
*Two years' experience designing or constructing forest roads.
*Experience with environmental permitting or negotiating.

SPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
*A valid Washington State Driver's License.
