POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCH ASSOCIATE POSITION Southern Insect Management Research Unit, Stoneville, MS is looking for a Postdoctoral Research Associate with training, experience, and skills in BIOINFORMATICS and knowledge of genetics/molecular biology.
The incumbent is responsible for planning, analyzing, and reporting research on insect resistance to chemical and biological insect control agents including Bt proteins expressed by genetically modified crops. The incumbent will participate in research projects designed to identify genetic loci associated with insect resistance to control agents, map genes, genetic markers and quantitative trait loci (QTL) conferring insect resistance, and genome-wide association studies. This position requires a Ph.D. in computational biology, biostatistics, bioinformatics, genetics, biochemistry, entomology, or a related field of study that has equipped the applicant with the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position. Genomic/transcriptomic data analysis skills using PERL, Python, and/or R scripts required for this position.
