Located on The Ohio State University campus, the Stable Isotope Biogeochemistry
Laboratory (SIB Lab) is accepting samples for analysis on a local, national,
and international level. Under the direction of Dr. Andrea Grottoli
([email protected]), the SIB Lab offers analysis for stable isotopes of
several light elements, including C, N, & O, in a wide variety of sample forms
at natural abundance or tracer levels. Samples are analyzed on a Thermo
Scientific Delta Plus Advantage continuous flow Isotope Ratio Mass Spectrometer
(IRMS), with a Costech Analytical Elemental Analyzer, KIEL, and Muliport
systems. The following analyses are available:
Inorganic carbonates δ18O and δ13C
Organic matter δ15N and δ13C
Gas ampoules δ13C and δ18O
Cost varies depending on sample type and amount of sample preparation needed.
Analyses start at $12.50/sample for pre-loaded organic samples and
$16.50/sample for pre-ground carbonate samples. For additional information,
