Qualifications
Minimum qualifications:
Applicants for the post-doctoral position should be within 3 years of receiving 
their PhD.
Applicants must be able to do independent research, have good written and 
verbal 
communication skills, and must be highly self-motivated

Preferred qualifications:
Candidates that have a background and publication record in chemical ecology, 
nematology, 
molecular biology/biochemistry, plant-herbivore interactions and/or closely 
related
fields are 
preferred. Applicants with a proven record of publication and experience 
working in the area of 
plant-microbe or plant-insect interactions will be preferred. Candidates with a 
proven record of 
excellence in related areas will be seriously considered.

Description
A post-doctoral position is available working in Jared Gregory Ali’s lab at 
Michigan State 
University, starting after June 2015. The primary research goal of the lab is 
to identify the 
dynamics of plant-insect interactions and elucidate the key mechanisms 
responsible for 
multitrophic relationships. We use a combination of molecular biology and 
chemistry, together 
with field and laboratory bioassays/trials to elucidate various induced plant 
responses and 
insect-natural enemy behavior.
