One-Year Faculty Position (2015-2016 Academic Year)

The School of Biological Sciences at the University of Northern Colorado has a 
one-year opening for a full-time Lecturer in Biology.  We seek a candidate with 
a Doctorate who is able to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in biology. 
The primary teaching responsibilities will include Ecology (Bio 360), Biology 
for non-majors (Bio 100) and Scientific Writing (Sci 291) and an additional 
upper division course depending on the expertise of the applicant.   The 
teaching load will be 12 credits per semester.  In addition the candidate will 
be expected to provide service for the school, college, university, and 
community; and be active in student advising.

Minimum Qualifications:
-- Doctorate in Biology or related field
                                 -- Commitment to excellence in teaching
                                -- Evidence or potential for excellence in 
teaching
                                -- Ability to teach other courses in 
molecular/cell biology and anatomy and physiology

Preferred Qualifications:
-- Teaching experience at the university level

Salary and Benefits:
Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Benefits available 
include health, life, and dental insurance, as well as a selection of several 
defined contribution retirement programs.  Dependents and spouses of UNC 
employees who are employed as 0.5 FTE or above are entitled to and eligible for 
Dependent Tuition Grants.  These tuition grants will cover in-state tuition 
charges.   Further requirements may exist.  Other benefits may be available 
based on position.  Opportunities for summer instruction may be available.

Additional Requirements:
Satisfactory completion of a background check, educational check, and

least one (1) month before the start date.

Location and Environment:
The University of Northern Colorado is a Doctoral/Research University enrolling 
13,000+ graduate and undergraduate students.  The university, founded in 1889,
