TheDepartment of Natural Sciences is accepting resumes for a full-time 12 
month,grant funded position of Program Manager of the NOAA Living Marine 
ResourcesCooperative Science Center (LMRCSC) beginning in September 2015. The 
Departmentof Natural Sciences offers B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. interdisciplinary 
programs inMarine-Estuarine Environmental Sciences (MEES), and a Professional 
ScienceMaster’s degree in Quantitative Fisheries and Resource Economics.  
TheDepartment also hosts the Center for Research Excellence in Science 
andTechnology (CREST)-Center for the Integrated Study of Coastal 
EcosystemProcesses and Dynamics funded by NSF.  Salary for the position 
iscommensurate with qualifications and experience.
Responsibilities: The Program Manager assists theCenter Director in 
administering the LMRCSC.  He/she oversees tracking ofthe budget; implements 
awards in accordance with 2CFR200; acts as budgetliaison between LMRCSC and the 
Office of Sponsored Research and Programs atUMES and those at LMRCSC partner 
institutions; compiles data that can be usedto describe Center activities; 
coordinates processing of subcontracts betweenUMES and LMRCSC partners; 
coordinates the flow of information between CenterDirector at UMES and Project 
Directors at Center institutions; tracks studentprogress; develops Request for 
Proposals (RFP) and assists in the proposalreview process; recruits students; 
identifies and disseminates internshipopportunities for students; prepares 
undergraduate and graduate studentcontracts; coordinates planning and execution 
of webinar/seminar events; assistsin coordinating LMRCSC meetings; assists in 
the development of the LMRCSC’snewsletter; and helps maintain the website. 
Performs other related duties asassigned.
Qualifications:  B.S., M.S. or Ph.D. degree ina natural science, physical 
science or social science discipline required.Candidates with master’s or 
doctoral degrees, experience in managing budgetsand knowledge of NOAA grants 
management processes are preferred. The successfulcandidate must have excellent 
written and oral communications skills as well asinterpersonal skills.
