Dear Ecolog-Listers: Recently, I saw what appears to be a member of the Podocarpaceae a university campus in western United States. As far as I could see, the tree does not have a tag, hence I don't think it's going to be easy to locate its identification with local databases on campus. I already asked local experts and they able to identify the plant to species.
If I provide images of the foliage (lanceolate leaves ending in a pointy end, reminiscent to me of *Torreya*) and fructifications [currently, they looks like a little water melons (ca, 3.5 cm long x 2.5 cm diameter] could someone recommend someone likely able to identify the tree to species? If so, please kindly send me an email to: [email protected] . With gratefulness, Jorge -- Jorge A. Santiago-Blay, PhD blaypublishers.com 1.
