Dear Colleagues,
I am interested in hearing of observations any of you may have regarding
sampling signs of parasite infection in fishery species at the time of
harvest. These include any methods that avoid 1) sacrificing any
proportion of the catch and 2) decreasing the value or marketability of
the catch through sampling. Observations could include apparent signs of
infection such as external lesions or approximate signs like poor
condition or atrophy. I am also interested in your observations and
experience with nonlethal assays that can be conducted at the time of
harvest or in port. These could include things like external swabs for
either PCR or direct observation and culture back in a lab.
I am looking forward to hearing what others have done. Please contact me
directly at [email protected]
Thank you,
Tal
