Dear Colleagues: Please consider submitting an abstract to the AGU Session B026: Closing the global nitrous oxide (N2O) budget, or forward this message to others who might be interested. Abstracts using observations and modeling at multiple spatial and temporal scales are invited.
Confirmed Invited Speakers: Rona Thompson (Norwegian Institute for Air Research) Eric A. Davidson (University of Maryland) A.R.Ravishankara (Colorado State University) Andrew R. Babbin (MIT) To submit an abstract by clicking here: https://agu.confex.com/agu/fm15/preliminaryview.cgi/Session9157 B026: Closing the global nitrous oxide budget: magnitude, spatiotemporal patterns and Uncertainty Submit an Abstract to this Session<https://agu.confex.com/agu/fm15/b/papers/index.cgi?sessionid=9157> Session ID#: 9157 Session Description: Atmospheric mixing ratios of nitrous oxide (N2O) substantially increased since the preindustrial era. Understanding the sources and magnitude of N2O as well as their historical responses to natural and anthropogenic driving forces is the key to effectively mitigate N2O emissions and climate change. This session aims at bringing together studies quantifying and predicting N2O emissions through the analysis of existing emissions inventories, field observations, empirical/statistical modeling, atmospheric inverse modeling and process-based ecosystem modeling. The objective of the session is to better constrain global and regional N2O budgets, understand the underlying mechanisms of spatiotemporal variations, and evaluate potential mitigation practices. Abstracts using observations and modeling at multiple spatial and temporal scales are invited. The deadline for the abstract submission is August 5th, 11:59 P.M. EDT.
