Join the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine for a free workshop to explore the science, ethics and governance of gene drive research. Organized as part of the Committee on Gene Drive Research in Non-Human Organisms's information gathering process, the workshop will take place on Wednesday October 28 from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine Building in Washington, DC. For those who cannot attend in person, the workshop will also be webcast.
With sessions on the scientific considerations of gene drive research, responsible conduct and ethics, perspectives on opportunities and limitations in low and middle income countries, and scales of governance, this workshop will bring together leading researchers and decision makers in the field. A full agenda, registration, and more information about the study can be found here: http://nas-sites.org/gene-drives/2015/10/03/second-public-meeting/
