Join us for either the spring or fall 2016 botany workshop in Isle Royale National Park (these workshops are sponsored by the Isle Royale & Keweenaw Parks Association). The first botany workshop on this incredible Lake Superior island was held in 2007 and they have taken place every year since. JUNE 6-11: at Rock Harbor, Isle Royale (most easily accessed from Houghton, Michigan) SEPTEMBER 6-11: at Windigo, Isle Royale (most easily accessed from Grand Portage, Minnesota) These botany workshops are open to anyone with beginning/intermediate knowledge of plant identification who would like to learn to identify the plants of Isle Royale with tools such as a dichotomous key and hand lens. Plant communities, rare species, ecology, and invasive species will be discussed.
