We are conducting an experiment with different sized plots (0.25, 1, 4, and 16 square meters) and would like to determine if plot size has an effect on arthropod diversity using pitfall traps. It wouldn't be feasible to have the number of traps proportional to plot size, as that would mean 64 traps in the largest plots. We are looking for suggestions for a sampling design that will capture the plot effect size with a smaller number of traps per plot. Thanks, Bracha Schindler
