Job Description

The Department of Biology at Boston University invites applications for a 
full-time Lecturer beginning September 1, 2016, renewable based on satisfactory 
performance. We seek a colleague with a strong commitment to undergraduate 
education and a track record of excellence in teaching. Teaching 
responsibilities will include two research-intensive block courses during our 
fall Marine Semester in the candidate’s area of expertise and two lecture-based 
courses in the spring. The position will involve active engagement in the 
academic life of the Biology Department and the Marine Program, including 
opportunities to serve as a research mentor for undergraduates, participate on 
MA or PhD committees, and contribute to the development of academic initiatives.

Required Skills

The successful candidate will have a PhD in biology, ecology or a related 
field, and an interest in integrating research into undergraduate teaching.
