Projects Data Coordinator for the Arctic Data Center
The Projects Data Coordinator manages ecologically and environmentally relevant data from the Arctic Data Center <https://arcticdata.io/> https://arcticdata.io/ and other funded projects at the National Center for Ecological Analysis and Synthesis (NCEAS <https://www.nceas.ucsb.edu/>).
The coordinator contacts data providers and consults the literature to gather metadata to make the data understandable and useful for synthesis activities. The coordinator also performs a wide variety of analysis and modeling activities to assess and remedy data quality issues, as well as characterize and visualize data for synthesis. The coordinator will work with other team members and with scientists from targeted projects to gather data and metadata, and will mentor graduate student fellows who contribute to the data management goals of the Center. We also anticipate the Projects Data Coordinator will play a role in conducting data science training activities to serve the Arctic research and other NCEAS communities.
