OPPORTUNITY FOR POST-DOCS, PH.D. AND/OR M.SC. STUDENTS IN PLANT ECOLOGY, WITH MARK VELLEND
With funds from a Steacie Fellowship, I am looking for motivated post- docs and/or to join my lab in the Department of Biology at the University of Sherbrooke, Québec, to work on one of the following topics (I am flexible in terms of details or different ideas): - Using time-lapse cameras and field observations/experiments to study the response of plant phenology to environmental change over space and time. - Meta-analysis and synthesis of plant community responses to experimental and natural environmental variation (e.g., climate, disturbance, nutrients). - Climatic and non-climatic determinants of plant species range edges. EN ÉCOLOGIE VÉGÉTALE, AVEC MARK VELLEND Avec les fonds dune bourse Steacie, je cherche des postdocs et/ou étudiant(e)s gradué(e)s pour faire de la recherche sur un des sujets suivants (je suis flexible par rapport aux détails et je suis ouvert aux autres idées) : - Lutilisation des caméras « time-lapse », les observations (sur le terrain) ainsi que les expériences afin détudier la réponse de la phénologie des plantes aux changements environnementaux. - Une méta-analyse des réponses des communautés végétales aux changements globaux (ex. climat, perturbations, nutriments) dans les expériences et sur les gradients naturels. - Les facteurs climatiques et non-climatiques qui déterminent les limites des distributions des espèces des plantes.
