I used an ASUS T100 tablet in bad field conditions (heavy rain, sleet) to
download datalogger data, and it worked great. I kept it in a computer case
when I wasn't downloading data. These tablets are light, have a long
battery life, charge like an Android phone, and you can find them for under
$200.
