The American Geophysical Union (AGU)’s Sharing Science program (sharingscience.agu.org) encompasses all of the resources, workshops, hands-on support, and opportunities AGU provides to help scientists effectively communicate with broader audiences—including journalists, educators and students, policy makers, and the public—about Earth and space science and its importance.
As part of our commitment to the widespread promotion of Earth and space science and its value, we have developed a group, the Sharing Science network, which consists of those AGU members interested in engaging with the broader community. Members of this network are provided with a variety of opportunities to communicate with the public, media, and policymakers (such as answering questions from the news media or government officials, writing blog posts or op-eds, contacting their representative or senators, or fulfilling requests for speakers, among others). If this sounds like something you would be willing to be a part of, please create your profile using our online form. The entire form, including optional questions, should take no more than 5-10 minutes to complete, and will let you tell us everything we need to know about your experience, expertise, and interests.
