We are looking for an adjunct instructor to teach a graduate level introductory online course on environmental applications using GIS. The course is conducted asynchronously and will be prepared with the help of our Blackboard instructional designers during the fall of 2017 to go live during the Spring of 2018. Typical enrollment is ~20-30 students in our MS for Environmental Science and Policy Program. Website:http://krieger.jhu.edu/fields/environmental-sciences/

A tentative course description follows:

"Environmental and Ecological Applications of GIS

This course is designed to introduce students to advanced concepts of geographic information science related to the fields of reserve planning, environmental science, natural resources, and ecology. Topics may include conservation needs using remote sensing, digital image processing, data structures, database design, landscape ecology and metrics, wildlife home range and habitat analysis, suitability modelling, terrain and watershed analysis, and spatial data analysis. This course will offered online yearly."
