WRA, Inc. is an environmental consulting firm based in San Rafael, 
California, with offices in Emeryville, San Diego, Fort Bragg, and 
Denver.  For over 35 years, WRA has provided outstanding ecological and 
design expertise to develop successful solutions for our clients.  We 
employ experts in the fields of plant, wildlife, and wetland ecology, 
GIS, CEQA/NEPA and landscape architecture.

We are looking for an energetic, career-minded ecologist to join us on a 
full-time basis.  We currently have one opening in our San Diego Office.  
The work that this position entails is varied and may include 
environmental compliance (CEQA, wetland delineation and permitting), 
mitigation and conservation banking/planning, biological surveys, and 
restoration planning.  Possession of USFWS recovery permits or 
equivalent MOU (particularly for Quino checkerspot, least Bell’s vireo, 
southwestern willow flycatcher, arroyo toad, flat-tailed horned lizard, 
and desert tortoise) and experience in these areas is preferred, but not 
required.  The successful candidate will exhibit the skills needed to 
complete wetland delineations, existing conditions reports, regulatory 
permitting package materials, and basic ecological assessments.  
Training is provided.

This position requires a Bachelor’s degree or higher in biology and may 
require up to 25% time working remotely.  Travel to other areas of 
California may be required, sometimes for extended periods.  Additional 
education and experience in Southern California natural resources, 
familiarity with California vegetation communities and habitats, 
California plant taxonomy, GIS field mapping, environmental impact 
analysis, permit preparation, and mitigation analysis.  Demonstrable 
technical writing ability and excellent communication skills are 
essential.
