Dear colleagues, I am starting a new faculty position this fall at an R2, and I am beginning to think about lab space renovations. I am an applied plant ecologist and my current typical lab tasks include sorting/weighing lots of plant material (aboveground biomass and roots), soil analyses, seed germination experiments (also involving a lot of sorting/weighing seeds), etc.
I am inheriting lab space that probably used to be a general chemistry teaching lab - lots of tall lab benches with many sinks, gas valves, a fume hood, etc. and very little storage space. If any of you have recently gone through lab renovations, and have any suggestions for resources or "lessons learned", I would very much appreciate any and all advice. Thank you, Kerry -- *Kerry M.
