The Biology Department at *Saint Mary's College of California* invites
applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Ecology
to begin Fall 2018. We seek a broadly trained ecologist to teach General
Ecology. Additional teaching responsibilities may include majors level
introductory Organismal Biology/Evolution, and Theory of Evolution, and
non-majors lower division General Biology and Protecting Biodiversity.
General expectations of faculty include teaching six course equivalents
per year (12-14 contact hours/week during the semester), academic
advising, service to the Department and College, professional
development and active scholarship. *Candidates must have a Ph.D. in
Ecology*. Postdoctoral experience is preferred. Research experience in
Animal Behavior and/or Molecular Ecology are preferred. Candidates must
show a record of teaching excellence at the undergraduate level.
Teaching experience in courses similar to those listed above would be
considered favorably. Candidates should have evidence of scholarly
achievement and a research program that is sustainable at a small
liberal arts college and suitable for undergraduate involvement.
