I’m looking for sources which give an overview of bald cypress (Taxodium
distichum) in terms of its ecology, natural history and biogeography. Ideally
I’d like a well-written book which covers all aspects of the tree, along the
lines of Andrew Moore’s new book on the pawpaw, but so far I haven’t been able
to find anything comparable for bald cypress.
So, I’d appreciate any suggestions on sources which might approach any part
of what I’m looking for. Most field guides are much too superficial for what I
need; I’m looking for a longer and more detailed narrative, preferably based on
years of field observation rather than a simple literature review. I
understand this may be asking a lot, but if anyone has any thoughts at all,
please contact me off-list with my thanks in advance.
