Marine Biologist

The Department of Biology at the College of Charleston invites applications for 
a tenure-track 
position in Marine Biology at the Assistant Professor level to begin August 
2018.  Candidates must 
have a Ph.D. in biology, marine biology, marine science or a related field and 
a strong commitment to 
teaching and maintaining an active research program involving undergraduate and 
graduate 
students.  We seek a marine organismal biologist who will complement strengths 
of existing faculty. 
The area of research is open but taxonomic groups of particular interest 
include marine tetrapods 
and marine phycology/botany.   Primary teaching responsibilities could include 
courses in the marine 
biology core, graduate and/or undergraduate specialty courses in an area of 
expertise, and 
introductory biology and/or human A&P.  The College of Charleston, located in 
Charleston, SC, is a 
public liberal arts and sciences institution of 12,000 students, with MS 
programs in Marine Biology 
and Environmental Studies, the Grice Marine Laboratory close to the downtown 
campus, and a 
commitment to excellence in teaching and research.  Information about the
