Greetings! I'm the Naturalist/Education Director at a small natural history museum in northern Wisconsin, as well as published author and newspaper columnist. (see http://cablemuseum.org/connect/)
This summer I'm taking a sabbatical to Alaska. My goal is to have firsthand experiences with boreal and tundra ecosystems, to gain experience doing fieldwork, and to write about them both in my weekly newspaper column, "Natural Connections," which is published in 20 papers across Wisconsin and Minnesota. My broader goal is to tell important science stories for a general audience. I'm open to a whole range of experiences and arrangements. I'd be willing to volunteer as a research assistant for a week or more, or just come visit you for part of a day. My resume is attached. I consider botany to be a strength.
