Hi everyone, My first book, "Poached: Inside the Dark World of Wildlife Trafficking" (Da Capo), was just published last week! The book explores the international illegal wildlife trade, including sources of demand, impacts in the field and possible solutions. Reporting took me to a dozen countries where I interviewed everyone from poachers and rhino horn users to ecologists, rangers and conservationists.
I've been interested in illegal wildlife trade since my days as an ecology master's student conducting research in Vietnam. I'm hoping this book can reach as many people as possible - it's a critical problem impacting global biodiversity, but something the world could largely solve if we decided to put forth the effort. Here's a link to the publisher's page with a sample section: http://bit.ly/2M3Y9qn I'm happy to visit classrooms, do interviews, answer questions, etc, for those who are interested in learning more and spreading the word!
