Eco Tools

What would you do with this question: What are your
most used eco-tools?

There isn't one answer we can all agree on. I'm not even sure
my answers will be the same tomorrow. The benefit of trying
to answer this question is in exploring ourselves and how
we view the world. It gives us a clue about how we approach
the process of living.

My favorite eco-tools

Tool 1 - The local library has always been my resource
when planning or working on a problem. We have
donated most of our books and if something looks
interesting i see if they will buy it for everyone.

Tool 2 - The internet is becoming a good resource and may
         someday replace the library.

Tool 3 - Philosophical model of the world. This tool would
include principles of ecology and the design
         ideas of Permaculture.

Tool 4 - Energy collectors are another good tool. This category
is dominated by solar collectors. They should be built
into every house and most appliances. Maybe someday. For
now simple things like windows and hot water heaters are
good choices. Energy will be a big issue soon.

Tool 5 - Plants, seeds, and soil are outstanding tools for
solving many problems. Pollution both inside and
outside can be cycled. Food production and energy
         collection are two other uses.

Tool 6 - Conservation knowledge, including low energy cookware
and house heating. Low energy storage devices such as
         root cellars and efficient refrigerators.

Tool 7 - Clothes might not feel like a tool, but they are
one of our main adaptions to the immediate
environment. They help us interface with
nature, enjoy walking, work comfortably, and
save energy. This tool is not used very effectively
by most of us. Things like long underwear, functional
hats, healthy shoes, etc. are often replaced by
trendy items that fit current conventions.

So.. what did i miss?
