Appreciate the ICI tip. I had heard about them but am always leery of the
hype:)
No, it's for real. The paint is exactly like any other paint in terms of
durability, ease of painting, etc. It does dry a bit slower though. It is
*not* 100% nontoxic...there are no VOC's (volitle organic chemicals) but
there is ammonia and mildicide. For that reason, a chemically sensitive
person must not be the one to do the painting. It is fine after it dries.
I am okay after an hour but some people I know have needed as long as a
couple of months (that's very rare). I even convinced Ecology House (the
only U.S. gov (HUD) housing for people with MCS) to use it and they did so
successfully.
I have not tried the outdoor version but will in the next year or so I'm
sure. Btw, I had every bit of the inside of my house painted with
Lifemaster 2000 so it was a real test. Other notes: do not confuse
Lifemaster 2000 with Glidden 2000, made by the same company. They are
different formulations. Glidden 2000 is *low* VOC paint, not *no* VOC.
Also the stores will mix up any color you wish so you are not limited.
Anyone know what brands of plywood might be more "green"; have less
problems with glues but still offer same otr better performance!
Anyone care to comment on the similar for various insulated concrete forms
on the market!
Anyone who knows the answers (or does the research to find out) would you
please give me permission to put your response on my website? I would be
happy with anything from a full article to a couple of lines with a contact
address for purchasing. Anything giving the eco side of things is very
welcome too. As I said, I believe strongly in doing both but that
information is almost non-existant.
