July in Zone 7

Spring has been difficult for our summer garden. The month
of June was two degrees below normal and heat loving plants
never got started. Normally, we are harvesting blueberries
on this day but not this year. Everything is a few weeks
behind.

The good news is that July is the beginning of our best
gardening period, the fall garden. Now is the time we plant
our most reliable crops and easiest to grow.

Early July plantings: carrots
                       Welsh Onions
                       Broccoli
                       Cabbage
                       Cauliflower
                       Kale
                       Beets
                       Peas
                       Chard
