Hey Jeff,

<<The ultimate water saver is a composting toilet. >> OK...we agree there,
but...

<< When we built our house they were fairly rare and expensive.>> They still
are!

<<Today there are many brands available: Sun-Mar, ecotech,
Clivus Multrum, Storburn.>> This is true...but have you looked at the prices
lately? many are over $1500. Some even use electricity and or fans to break
down waste. Installation also can be a bear.

And many people still complain about the odors...which is definitely a no no
especially if you are in well insulated, tight home designed to save energy.

On paper I'm a firm advocate of the concept of a composting toilet...but it
seems we need a low cost, efficient design that can be easily installed works
well creates no odors and is easily serviced. In addition it should not look
like too different than standard fixtures.

If the green folks could do that I know I'd buy one for sure. But I'm not
going to pay 10 times the cost of a regular toilet, and have to worry about
odors, proper break down, contamination etc. And some have said there are
also problems if more people are using it than designed for. Big parties
might be hard on the potties. he he

And Porta Potties are not the answer for most folks(BG) year round. Outhouses
are not bad imho...but again not too many will go that way:) Scares away
relatives and some friend's wives:)

Do you know of any Composting toilets that fit the above. I'm not familiar
with Eco Tech or Storburn products. Anyone using these? Best to all. Frank
