I'm confused about this.  I've heard both success stories and
failure reports.  One possible conclusion is that correct
installation is critical and mistakes are easy to make.

   On paper I'm a firm advocate of the concept of a
   composting toilet...but it seems we need a low cost,
   efficient design that can be easily installed works well
   creates no odors and is easily serviced.  In addition it
   should not look like too different than standard fixtures.

How about adding these criteria:  1. It is legal
                                  2. works at remote sites
                                  3. works without additives
                                  4. is easy to keep compost
                                     process active.

We are considering adding a unit and looking at options.  I'll
write up some of our data in a few days.
