Hi Gene,
We're in north-central Wisconsin at the southern edge of (what's left
of) the north woods. The area is remarkable for nothing in particular,
except for possibly the extreme climate. I live here mainly because of
very cheap land prices in the early '70s, the area's remote "ruralness,"
and the good silt loam soils. However, land prices are no longer cheap
and we feel much less remote than we did twenty-five years ago, but the
soil gets better with each passing year.
