This small act can change our lives more than can be anticipated. Six
years ago when we moved into this place the cable company wanted $75 to
hook up the cable. I asked the order taker why should I pay $75 in order
to spend $30+ a month for ever. That was 6 years ago and because we are in
a valley where there is no broadcast reception, we have been without TV for
6 years.

I notice more and more how much this has affected us. The problems that
seem to grip the nation are really of no consequence when they are not
beamed directly into your brain. Does it really matter is a fictional TV
character tells everyone she is gay? Not one bit. It does matter that
thousands are dying of starvation but not on TV, that was last years news.

So, TURN OFF THE DAMN TV!
