  actually, answer 1 is incorrect.  Flies do have mouthparts,
  many features of which are used in taxonomy.  The main
  visible difference between dipterans (flies) and
  hymenopterans (bees, wasps, hornets, etc) is that flies
  only have 2 wings whereas bees (and the others) have 4.

You are probably correct.  My information source was
a documentary (by David Atenbourgh i think) about
imitators.  They showed some flies that looked
identical to a bee and claimed this is a protective
device and the best way to identify the fly was to
look for its (dauber?).  Whatever you call that
thing it uses to dissolve food with.

Possibly they don't consider the flies "thing" a
mouth and the flies wings were colored to look
like 4 wings rather than 2?
