Has language become our enemy?

Quote from the book: Mastering Guerrilla Marketing

If you've got the right attitude about marketing, you're nearly
fixated on providing your customers with precisely what they
need. One of the things they do need, as do all members of
humanity is a sense of identity.

jeff's comment: It is interesting to look at billboards and advertisements
and see what they are selling. Often it isn't a product that is being
described. They are trying to give us a good image and associate
a product at the same time. This is basic propaganda and look how
it is described in the quote above.

Have we unleashed propaganda on ourselves?

Another new book titled: "If it bleeds, It Leads" is about television
news and is written by an insider. Here again were are faced with
a new form of propaganda. The goal of news is to hold ones attention
and not provide news. In fact, there is very little real news on news
broadcasts. The range of topics is very narrow although it appears
a lots of topics are being covered. This manipulation of news topics
is deliberate and distorts a cultures view of the world.
