Here is a sampling from the Small Farmers Journal.

Regarding farm policy:

Insanity is doing exactly the same thing over
and over again, hoping for a different result.

  Technological progress is like an
ax in the hands of a pathological criminal.
    -- Albert Einstein

Farm humor:

Congress is so strange. A man gets up to speak
and says nothing. Nobody listens--and then
  everybody disagrees. -- boris Marshalov

Ninety-eight percent of the adults in this
  country are decent, hardworking, and
honest. It's the other lousy two percent
that get all the publicity. But then we
  elected them. -- Lily Tomlin

British farmer Freind Sykes wrote in 1947:

The old and ignorant misconception that the greater
the amount of excrement and urine to be found in the
farmyard muck the greater its fertilizing value,
requires much eloquence to dislodge. The farmer simply
cannot believe that straw, as he understands it, could
ever be as good as the excreta.

a poem:

  Modern technology
  Owes ecology
  an apology
    -- Alan Eddison
