Builders Greywater Guide
 by: Art Ludwig, 1999

This book merges the legal side of grey water systems
(California and other areas) with various options and ways to
design. It has a few pages of plants and common household
products to avoid.

Some facts:
  1. Shade plants and acid loving plants
do not usually like grey water.
  2. Plants that like grey water are:
       Oleander Bougainvillea Palms
       rose rosemary Agapanthus
       Bermuda grass Honeysuckle Australian tea
       Stone Pine Oaks Ariz. Cypress
       cottonwood olive Ice plant
       juniper
   3. Most cleaning detergents can accumulate in
      desert areas. Switching to biodegradable
      products is recommended.

Some things to avoid:
   1. complex plumbing
   2. storage of greywater
   3. chemical treatment of greywater
   4. greywater drip systems
   5. use of government or trade organizations advice
   6. allowing greywater to flow off property

jeff's conclusion: Study nature and tinker with plantings
till the system begins to function.
