The book "Organic Living" is full of summaries
and definitions. Here is how they view organic
farming:

The major components:
  1. Working with nature rather than against it.
  2. Respect and protection of nature.
  3. Encourage biodiversity
  4. Animals raised in healthy enviornments.
  5. Non poluting techniques.

For the consumer they suggest:
  1. Buy organic
  2. Grow a open pollenated garden
  3. Avoid GM foods
  4. Join a conservation organization

Jeff's addendum.
For me one big issue here is information
and truth. That seems to be where the
battle is being fought. To win this war
the job is to stay informed and spread
the truth in ways that will be heard. This
last part eliminates most emotional arguements
  and preaching.

What do you think?
