First steps towards personal contentment
(forming a healthy relationship with
the natural world).

 1. Seek truth and try relating the truth even
    if it is impolite or unpleasant.  This
    uncomplicates life and allow us to move forward.
 2. Deal with problems directly.  If a situation
    is too painful or complicated do not ignore
    it.  Face it and schedule your time so it does
    not dominate your life.
 3. Admit faults and decide how to deal with them.
    Avoid guilt or self criticism and turn it into
    conscious action even if it is to ignore the
    fault.
 4. Accept change.  We can not control the world
    but we can accept our limited ability to influence
    it.
 5. Accept limitations.  We humans are not as powerful
    or smart as our literature suggests.  We live on a
    fragile planet and have a history of making stupid
    mistakes.
 6. Accept responsibility for our actions and thoughts.
    Everything has a consequence even our non-actions.
    Every little act will influence our life and others
    and should be given consideration.  Allowing the
    default cultural programming to decide one's actions
    and fate is not the optimum way to live.
