Now I'm repeating myself...
my point is that there are now resources available that already have the
experience of screwing things up and are willing to tell you the right way to
do things based on that experience...
back when people were dealing with companies like M$...they were not able to
share information between each other because M$ didn't provide the forums to
do that.
in an open model, those forums exist and there is no reason to not take
advantage of them.
