Still, I think that's confusing as hell.
I agree. There is a looser tethering with a piece of GUI that you can click on, compared to the inline "on" handlers. Or no tethering at all. It's just a string, "click". There is no requirement about what the handler contains or what it's applied to. You can turn a dog into a cat using CSS, JS and HTML if you feel like intercepting and managing everything yourself.
