The security implications are probably far more complex than you
think.  Most of the banks in the US out-source their online banking
services to a company called Digital Insight.  I met the CTO of
Digital Insight a few months ago and discussed these very issues as
they relate to e-commerce.  They might be able to help you out:

In case you are wondering, I have no personal, professional, or
