John, Here in Pennsylvania utility deregulation, we use the 824 to convey back processing errors for the 810, 820, 867, 568, and 248 documents. There have been specific messages agreed upon for this. For the 814's, the sender will use the BGN-01 value of "13" for a request and the receiver will send back the BGN-01 value of "11" for a response. There are other segments included in this transaction to indicate acceptance or rejection at the application level. So depending on the code in the 814, or the lack of an 824 for any of the other documents, the sending party should have a very good feeling about whether or not the EDI document passed processing. Include the 997 in there for compliance checking, and percentage goes up. Of course nothing is perfect, but this works well. ======================================================================= To contact the list owner: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Archives at http://www.mail-archive.com/edi-l%40listserv.ucop.edu/
