Update: A couple of weeks ago I posted a mesage asking for an EDI software
package "comparison matrix" which would compare the important features of
several top EDI software packages.
WOW! Talk about responses! It took less than 10 minutes from the time I
posted until I had received several phone calls and email messages about
this subject which lasted for days.
Admittedly, most of these calls were from Software vendors / outsourcing
companies trying to get a new sale...but hey, that's OK. I asked for it,
right? :O)
Unfortunately, I didn't find exactly what I was looking for so I've decided
to put something together myself.
However, I did get several responses from EDI-L members who had put similar
lists together and offered their lists and/or ideas.
These were all very helpful, so to all of you who put in your two
cents.....THANK YOU very much. I appreciate it.
What I have at this point is not a comparison of products, but an RFI
("Request For Information") document, just asking basic questions to the
vendor about their EDI Software product(s).
I'll be sending these to several EDI Software vendors to have them answer
the questions and/or use an "evaluation" copy of their package to answer
the questions myself.

Let me know what you think....I'm sure I left something out. Just remember
that this isn't an absolutely comprehensive list of questions, but it's
close enough to get the job done.
I'll use this to thin down the initial list of vendors we had and then
start focusing in on the 3 or 4 that I want to spend the time to evaluate
in detail.
