Jake Balfour, of Source Electronics Corporation, writes that he's
"testing the EDIFACT INVRPT with a customer who will use it to report
their consignment product consumption. I'm curious if this is the
standard use of the INVRPT and whether there are other possibilities I
may need to prepare for with future customers. Also, what would be the
X12 equivalent?"

Dear Jake:

The INVRPT sounds plausible - another possibility is the SLSRPT. The
INVRPT is the rough equivalent of the X12 852 Product Activity Data
Transaction, and the SLSRPT that of the X12 867 Sales Report/Product
Transfer & Resale Transaction.

Considering your line of business, it might be helpful to check out the
Business Models and EDI Guidelines at the Electronics Industry Data
Exchange Association (EIDX) at http://www.eidx.org/. If not already a
member, you should seriously consider joining the EIDX which - along
with CompTIA - has great get-togethers every three months in exotic
pleasure spots within the U.S.
