Way back in the mid-90's (around 1993-94) Baxter Healthcare worked with TSI
International (now Mercator) to bring to the health care supply chain a
PC-based EDI solution supporting standard EDI transactions in use in health
care at the time: 850, 855, 832, etc. It was named OnCall EDI. I believe
that the base/foundation for OnCall EDI was the TSI PC EDI product, which I
think is still called Trading Partner PC.
In any case, the health care supply chain did not wholeheartedly adopt
OnCall EDI, for a number of reasons which don't make any difference today.
This may be what you're asking about.
