The issue I have run into when attempting to process the 868 on many of the translators is that the translators try to update the existing tables, there by wrecking your standards database or they fail to allow you to save it off as a partner based standard. When it was first proposed its purpose was to function as an XML DTD except as an EDI implementation guide or Data set. The main concern addressed was to know what our partners were expecting. The glorious thing about XML is that if you have a browser you can read it, it just takes some understanding of the XML itself. With the 868 it takes a robust translator to update or save off the standards to a separate file format for usage. The most effective use I have seen of the 868 is from Edifecs. Their use of the 868 however, is quite limited to a print out report. John

Those that force you to license specific transactions, or those that only contain a subset of the X12 transactions will not. I didn't know that there was 1.0 version out. You ask an excellent question about the 868. I don't know of anyone using it, nor do I know of an EDI package that can process it, althought there may be some. So group, does anyone know of anyone using the 868, or any EDI package that can process it? .
